For the past twelve years I’ve been working hard to build my speaking skills to a professional level. I’ve also been creating as much original content on what creators do best – create, much of which you can access for free via this web site.
Since I have only been online for a month I have to base most of my assessment on what I have heard offline in the many speaking engagements that I have done thus far. I am confident to announce that I am ready to go pro – by this I mean that I’m finally ready to start booking professional speaking engagements.
Soon I’ll be adding some pages to this web site to provide details on how to book me as a speaker. I’ll provide a list of speaking topics that I feel will be valuable and interesting.
Over these past years I’ve already been received booking inquiries. Up to this point, however, I’ve not accepted any paid speaking engagements because I felt it was important for me to first build my presentation skills to a professional level. I have also created a good amount of powerful content. I did not desire to accept paid engagements and under-deliver, but instead I desired to over-deliver and exceed the expectations of those who would hire me.
I am tremendously grateful to the many people over the years that have generously mentored me along the way to becoming a professional speaker. Some have giving me ideas, advice, and coaching all along the way. I could not have made it this far without the invaluable input they have provided me.
Although I haven’t made any major clients I am a veteran professional theater performer in many live theaters across America, and have spoken at several corporate events and conventions. I have an amazing voice. One reporter once said, “Michael Claridge has a voice to die for.” I’m not trying to kill anyone off – but I have found tremendous joy in entertaining audiences.
I have a keen ability to blend clean intelligent material with audience interaction making my presentations fun and unexpected. Did I say clean and intelligent? You can always be assured that I will not offend.
These are challenging times for the meeting professionals. As the National Speakers Association puts it, “the changing marketplace demands that speakers and consultants provide “expertise, crafted uniquely and delivered eloquently and effectively.”
Because it is imperative that you get the most bang for your carefully spent dollar, most organizations no longer care to spend their dollars on “hope & hype” speakers who are mainly fluff and entertainment. And that my friends is exactly what I have been trying to create of myself: an expert creator who speaks professionally.
